WTB: 2 1/4" Trackball(just the ball)
« on: November 08, 2003, 12:59:24 am »
I'm looking for a 2 1/4" trackball.  I just need the ball, nothing else.  Color doesn't really matter, I'm mostly just looking for price.  It can be used.

Thank you.

Many 2 1/4" balls are the same size as a pool ball and many people have used those as custom replacements.

I have thought of that, but I don't have a pool table, so it'd probably just be easier to get a trackball.  Thank you for the tip though.

Boy , you're about 6 days late... I just threw out the 2 red ones that came in my wico trackballs. I didn't even think to save them for someone else.

As far as the pool balls, i just drove down the street to a pool place and bought 2 eight balls. They do have some cool ones though, sports with team logos and stuff, of other designs.

Just a thought. ;)

You can get fairly cheap billiard balls from Happ for around $3-4 plus shipping.

Bob Roberts has 'em for $6.00, but I'm sure your town has a local billiards shop or Sears... at either one, you should be able to find a cue ball cheaper than shipping a trackball.  (Cue balls and 8 balls are usually available separately, while all the other balls are in sets.)  Make sure it's a 2-1/4" cue ball, though; coin-op tables use a 2-1/8" cue ball, whereas regular tables use a 2-1/4".

Almost complete.  ;)
Coin-op cue balls come in 2 1/8", 2 1/4", and 2 3/8", and the eight ball can be 2 1/4" or 2 3/8".  Some of the coin-op 2 1/4" (both cue and 8 ball) are magnetic, which you probably don't want, although it might not matter.

So look for a 2 1/4" non-magnetic ball.

Yes my pool table utilizes a 2 1/4" magnetic cue ball.  It was a coin op table in it's past life.
