monitor resolution prob PLEAZZ HELP!!!

 Hello  . I recently purchased what i believe to be a 27inch
beige wells Gardner computer monitor off ebay. the model number is blurry but
i believe it says (MW27-000) and (WG 15##70#) i put the pound symbol for
numbers i could not read. it says that it was manufactured June 1998.  The
person i purchased the monitor from told me that he was using it on his
computer at a resolution of 800 by 600. when i plugged it into my computer i
got a very flickered picture, i saw nothing, when i turned my resolution down
to 640 by 480 at 60 hertz a pretty clear image comes in but it really big, and
not all of the picture fits on the screen, and every time i open a new
application, the whole screen kinda resizes and moves or something, i talked
with a computer store and he told me that i might need new drivers for the
monitor. I don't know if thats the case or where i could find new drivers. and
one of my friends told me that it might just not be able to get to 800 by 600
could you please help, please, any info you could give me would be greatly

 Hey thanks, but i spoke with the guy from wells gardner. he told me that i would need a driver, but he does not know where i could find one, could anyone help?
