JPAC or MAME issue? -not coining up P1 on docastle-
« on: March 13, 2013, 06:05:25 pm »
Suddenly, on my vert cab, coin up 1 is not registering in Mr. Do's Castle (which is using MAME .104). It is selected in both general and specific game properties. When I re-enter the value from the cab's control panel, pressing '1' registers as 1. But docastle still won't coin up via the '1' button. '2' coins it up, as it should. And other games coin up with '1'. There are no nvram and sta files for docastle in .104, so that would appear not the problem.  I really don't get it.

Are you using a save game hack?  If so, try downloading mame 1.04 and running the original mame.exe and setting the 1 button that way.  Then play the game, test it, and when all is good, revert back to the hacked mame.

The reason I say this is because I have a similar issue with MAME .143.  Anytime I try to assign a key with the hacked version, I get n/a when I try to assign the button.  So I simply run the original exe to assign buttons.

It's the old MAME32 .104 .   I hadn't thought to try baseline, but shouldn't it not matter?  Aren't the keycodes the same between keyboard and JPAC?  1 is 1.
