I have a mostly empty Sega Initial D driving cabinet.  I removed all the boards, sold most of them separately.

I have some more parts listed separately on Ebay, but I'll cancel those auctions if someone buys this whole cabinet.

Right now it still has all plastics, a VERY nice 29" VGA monitor, the complete seat, and pedals.  I pulled the Dash but I can throw it back in.  Basically it's a complete cabinet minus the Marquee box and the innards.

For $75 $50, if someone comes and gets the WHOLE thing, you can have the dash, pedals, plastics, monitor, etc.

This would make a heck of a multi driver or a MAME driver.  Please come and get it. :)

I'm in WV, zipcode 25314.  wadelanham at hotmail.com is my email.

Thanks!
Wade

I'm sorry guys, I really would like these parts (or cabinet) to go to someone who can use them, but hauling this thing is out of the question for me.

It will take me several hours to get the rest of the good parts off (and stored) and then to trash the cabinet, but I'd love it if someone would just come and take the whole thing at once.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Somebody please buy this so I don't end up spending my one day off driving 5 hours each way to get it!
Then I'd still have to disassemble it when I got back to get it through the basement door.

I'm getting a lot of nibbles on the smaller parts.  Several auctions are ending this Sunday.  At that point some of the parts might be leaving.

BTW, in case anyone is wondering, the cabinet is in "fair" condition.  It's not good or great by any stretch.  Otherwise I probably would have kept it.

Uhaul truck will cost you a fortune!  But we can probably fit it all in a van with no seats or possibly a pickup truck if we pull the monitor section off.

I'm not getting notifications on this thread.  Better switch to email.  Wadelanham at hotmail.com.

I can get you better pics so you can be sure you want to bite this off. :)  That's a long drive!  I know, I've made it dozens of times.

If it falls off the truck going through PA, let me know where.   :P

The dimensions should be pretty close to the Virtual On cab I converted.

I hauled that one in a small truck with a standard length bed.
IIRC, there was enough room to put the tailgate up, but it's been a while.

Let's be honest, the wheel was really not a problem, you were silent for several days and the wheel was on ebay for $20 starting bid with zero bids. :)  The drive and not having a vehicle that it could be loaded into easily was really the issue.

There are 3 people in line to get it now so I'm talking with all and looking for the person the most able to pick it up (right type of truck) and who can get here the soonest.  This is still a race against me smashing it up, if I get a really nice weather day and feel motivated, it could happen.

That would be a shame. You would lose $50 and someone would lose a cool project.

*sigh*
I don't really want to go back and forth on this. I not only convinced my fiancee to let me get a 7th cab, I had a truck lined up, someone to go with me, and this Friday off work. I said Id pay you the $75 to hold it, you didn't take me up on the offer and then the wheel sold. You selling the wheel was the deal breaker for me, not to mention you never sent me pix. Silent for 3 days? Ive been on the forum everyday. We emailed back and forth EVERYDAY. The 26th, 27th, 28th and my last email on the first saying to go ahead and sell the cab locally/part it out. So yeah if you say silent from March 1st to today, the 4th, then yeah 3 days of silence after I said I wasnt going to come get it.

You kept trying to convince me not to come, I finally cave in and say I'm not going to come and you make me sound like an ---uvula---. You can trash that cab, but not my rep.

"You can trash that cab, but not my rep."

Trash your rep, highly unlikely Malenko. You've helped way too many members in this forum for that to happen. You often paid shipping out of our own pocket while lending your own parts/games out.

Sometimes things work out for the better.
Good luck to both of you.

Not trying to trash your reputation or go back and forth.  You're right I haven't been on top of the pictures.  And I admit I just glanced over my inbox to come up with the 3 days, so you're probably right on with that too.  I don't get on this forum every day, FWIW.

I tried to convince you not to come because it didn't sound like you had a vehicle that was reasonable for this game.  And the point of me selling it for $75 (now $50) is so I don't have to work too hard to get rid of it.  I don't want to spend hours disassembling it and loading it up for $75.  Just trying to share some perspective.  No hard feelings.

Wade

Badmouth left with it today!!  No big issues loading it, I can't speak about the unloading though!

Hope you made it home safely.

No trouble at all.  Disassembled the thing fairly far and carried it in one piece at a time.  Seat area was much heavier than expected, but only thing that was a hassle was the monitor section.  Luckily my friends carried it in before I could help. :)Been a long day.  Left at 5:15am,  got back 6:30pm.

Haven't powered up the monitor yet.  Hopefully nothing got jarred.

Glad both you and game made it home OK!!

To test the monitor, you should set Windows to 640x480 first and then plug it up to the monitor.  It doesn't require an isolation transformer either.

I told you it was crazy how heavy the metal base was, even without much left inside it!

I'm sure it will be a while, but I look forward to seeing what this becomes.  I had a lot of ideas for it too but I have VERY few projects left in me.
