NSM Digital Thunder Wall (Error code 60)
« on: February 23, 2013, 11:25:46 pm »
Hi lads, first of all I'm delighted I found this site and look forward to using the forum as I also own a Candy cab arcade machine and I'm sure I'll find something interesting things on here related to Arcades aswell.

Getting back on topic...

I bought this Jukebox a few years ago on eBay and for the first few days had absolutely no trouble with it. Then after a couple of days I got around to mounting it onto the wall and this is where the trouble started. Here I was sitting down with the boys enjoying some tunes and playing some poker when all of a sudden smoke started coming out of the bottom of the unit. I immediately plug it out and just deal with the trauma.

The next day despite the burn smell still hovering in the room I chance turning it back on and to my surprise it worked again, this however only last for a couple of days and then I started getting this error code 60 message sometimes even Error 61. The result was the disc still loaded into the tray but didn't seem to have the power to spin and play resulting in the Code 60/61.

I managed to trace down the users manual and it's tells me something is breaking down between the CD player and the control board yet all the lights and CD inlet slide still work fine.

I'm almost 100% the transformer is the problem and is somehow running on little power but not enough to spin the discs.

My question for anyone that might be able to tell me the best way out of this and how I might go about getting this back up and running. There's no comeback on the seller either as they burned me off when I contacted them and it's a nightmare sending it back to England in the first place.  :-\

Shipping something from the U.S. to Canada for repair/exchange?  Please use USPS to avoid (additional?/excessive?) shipping charges.  PM me if you have any questions.

I'm not Ed, I'm from Ireland and there's absolutely no one doing Jukeboxes, least none I can locate, especially older models like this one.

220v that's correct Ed, would you try getting the transformer repaired or would you buy a replacement one and if so would any 220v transformer work the same?
