+1. Ugh.

+1 - the rotating monitor isn't even centered when vertical!

I could try to figure out shipping for you, however, I know it would be pretty expensive.  I shipped one of these to Canada and the postage was $80.   :banghead:

1/2" T-molding, 20 ft.

Unfortunately only comes in black or white at that size, but I've been thinking about picking up some white and attempting to dye it using RIT dye.

Possibly easier/more consistant than dye is SEM color coat spray paint: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=-1&isNodeId=1&Description=sem+color+coat&x=-889&y=-112

It's very flexible and durable, so it will not flake off like most paint when you bend the molding.  I've used it for painting RC car bodies, and it's great.

Is that 20ft enough for the widescreen version too?

Should be.  That majority goes on the sides, and those shapes haven't changed.

I do think it could look better and control panel seems too close to the monitor, but I like the idea!

@ Ginsu Victim- Im new to this forum and I did not want to insult the original creator (in case he's a member here  ;) ).  But I have to agree with you, hence "it could look better."  I just really liked the idea of a rotating monitor, so I posted.

your reaction . . .  :D   HAHAHA!

^People on here have done rotating monitor setups that don't require you to ever touch the monitor.

As for offending anyone on here, we've all done it at some point (some of us more than others).

Did you look for 1/2" T-molding here?

105-667 comes in multiple colors, but they say 250 ft roll in one spot, but make it look like it can be ordered by the foot on the order page...

if it's a 250 ft minimum, any group of 10 people want to split a roll of red with me?

Interior dimensions on the 2P version - is it exactly 22", or is there a little wiggle room?  I found a 24" 1080p LED TV with a vesa mount that's 22.08" x 14.31", and I'm hoping that will fit.

EDIT: Ordered it anyway.  $135 shipped was too good a deal not to take a bit of a gamble.  Lets hope it fits.

Anybody know if the 1/2" particle board is beefy enough for blind hole inserts for mounting the joysticks, ore are through-bolts necessary?

I know it was mention prior and I wanted to see what these would kinda look like on a stand and checked ebay and they had some stands that made them look more like a full size.

if you were considering them and if it were me I would rather have a stand where the stand is larger at the base where the bartop itself would fit into the stand.

that way the whole thing just looks like a desk when not in use, maybe throw granny's fancy doyley over it etc.  :laugh2:

it would keep it put away looks clean dust free and could be locked with a tumbler lock and key perhaps too.

you would have to ask those that are interested or perhaps email some off ebay and ask them why they bought them over a full a cab.

me I can't tell ya what others were thinking but perhaps maybe they dont have the room for a full size cab or cabs but it dont seem like a bad optional piece to those that do want them as it was mentioned prior already.

asking that is kinda like the bartop itself and the same silly question would apply.. why that over a full cab then?

but now onto me personally I already have a full 26" nanao cab and a 39" showcase and I now want a bartop becuase either of them will fit in my pc/lab/mancave.

but I would think if it were me and they were available instead of the bartop hoggin a shelf or pc desk it is now in the corner inside the base with a monitor or shelf on top of it so no space is lost now becuase I can put something on it if it were me though.

a slide out keyboard drawer would not hurt the looks for it all either and give it more of a desk look.

sure the showcase would fit but is also would be like parking the truck in the living room.

another good example is if you only own a car it's a ---smurfette--- driving down the road with it on the roof

another example have you ever tackled and tugged a full size cab up your 2 flights of apartment stairs at 56 years old all by yourself without a scratch to either?

just a couple reasons why some may want one off the top of my head for ya.

in the end it comes down to prefference of the end user friend and there is already a market for them apperently.

The main reason for bartops/desktops is a lack of floor space. If you're going to build something big enough to house the bartop, then I still think that makes the floor space argument moot. But whatever. Create away.

Looks rad!
By the looks of the insides, a person *could* put a dedicated board in there, w/ scaler.
Now, to only get my hands on one... ;)
What's your status of the vertical version?
