Best Mame Frontend For me????
« on: April 07, 2002, 08:23:00 am »
???

Hi,
I have been away for awhile and wondered if anyone could assist me in selecting a frontend. Heres my needs:
-want absolute full screen edge to edge (no black borde on games)
-want to use the joystick and buttons to move throught the menus easily with no need for mouse or keyboard.
-nice skins, and easy to use interface.
-prefer windows based but i do want my machine to appear as if its only a game box with NO OS running.

Any recommendations???

As for the black borders... thats your mame configuration.  HWStretching if you have a real video card should fix this.

then for the question...
mine of course.... If I ever get to getting it ready to release it... man, its been a while.

but if you want actually released versions...
ArcadeFX (Great and the one that many have copied)
RagingDragon (Great with many options and skins)

There are a ton of others, but with the skinning / configuration I think you want to look at those two first

Well, you probably want features like categories and such too.

If not gameloader and partyon work too.
gl is dos based and partyon is windows.

or there is arcadefx and raging dragon.

Or mine in the future (but like party on I'm making it for me, you can use it if you like, but I'm not changing it)

I just found this kick ass program that you might be interested in.  It let's you use your joystick
and cp buttons just like a mouse.  Best $20 I've ever spent.
