Yen's stick

This will be my first stick made out of a sturdy material. last ones was cardboard and believe it or not even poster board and thumb tacks.
those was mostly just test beds and proof of concept. now is the time for a real deal. dont think ill be winning any awards for these design or build but for a man who started this with no prior knowledge of wood working i dont think i did too bad thus far. I built this stick as a temporary cure for that arcade itch ive had for over a year now. not having to room for a full showcase like i want ill be using this stick to play on my general pc hooked up to my 47in lcd. As i dont have the room to hook up the 32in crt i have waiting for the showcase. The stick is being done on the cheap so with design revision its not costing me a whole lot to build them. this first one is 14" x 10" x 3" 8 button layout for use with the ps3 as well. i got a 24" x 24" panel of particle board from lowes and had them cut the pieces out i needed. Alas the guy was in too much of a rush and didnt wait for instruction from me and cut the board in half so i ended up not getting all the right size pieces. I did get a top out of it and i got the other sides i just need to trim them down. I got the layout printed and the joystick mounted. the joystick hole is not exactly straight but it works none the less. funny thing is on the test board i made a straighter hole. here is the only pics i have to show at the moment. havnt decided how im going to paint it just yet. or if ill just make a small notch and add an overlay and plexi. i do know i have mounted the joystick from the bottom to keep from having screws showing and messing up the artwork of an overlay. Any feed back is welcome i also have the sketchup file that i did when planning this tho be its not in detail just a real rough draft.

The lil square on the bottom is an outline of the GGG xin-mo ill be using for this so i know where to mount it later. and before you go bashing me, yes that is an xgaming stick as my gf bought me the set of buttons and joysticks as a gift. cause they was cheap and i have a bad habit of losing interest in something just as soon as i have it in my hand. later ill be going with sanwa or suzo-happ havnt decided yet. on the two list below i have them split between parts and tools as im not factoring the tools cost into this as those will be used more later and ill get my money back out of them down the road.

Parts list.
buttons & sticks - $40
5/8" 24" x 24" particle board - $5
GGG Xin-mo - $30
100pc wood screws - $4

Tool list
Drill - $23
1" spade bit - $3
10pc drill bit set - $11
