Ultimarc Rotary Interface question
« on: October 02, 2012, 03:46:45 pm »

If I want to hook up a rotary joystick via an Ultimarc Rotary Joystick Interface, do I still need something like an i-pac to handle connecting the actual joystick functions as well as the rotary interface?  I tried searching here and couldn't find an answer (although it is probably on the site somewhere).

I emailed Andy at Ultimarc and the answer to my question is yes, the Rotary interface only controls the rotary function, the rest of the switches still need to be connected via an I-Pac or other control board.  I'm posting this in case anyone else goes looking for the answer later.

fyi:  the groovy game gear GPWiz40 is a gamepad interface (like an ipac, except an ipac is recognized as a keyboard) that also supports rotary controls

For those interested, I just created a software interface for mechanical rotary joysticks.
