1967 Rowe AMI MM-3 no audio one channel
« on: October 09, 2012, 11:56:38 am »
I have a 1967 Rowe AMI MM-3 with one channel of audio missing. I do not have a service manual or schematics, nor do I really have all the equipment needed to troubleshoot properly (oscilloscope to see where the signal stops would be great to own but I do not have one).

What area is a common problem on the amp? I have verified the pre-amped input signal (via RCA connectors) from the tone arm is good on both channels, and I've verified both of my speakers are good. I have narrowed it down to somewhere in the amplifier case. The filter caps are all original so that may be something I should replace anyway.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That amplifier is certainly old enough to need recapping.
