Rowe AMI vinyl 45 jukebox arm sticks to turntable
« on: February 05, 2014, 08:35:23 am »
I have a Rowe AMI jukebox model 1100 MM4 vinyl jukebox that I have been playing for many years, unfortunately all of a sudden the arm that picks up the vinyl 45 sticks to the turn table, is there an adjustment that can be done?

Thanks for anyone help it is greatly appreciated

Hello Danny,

Welcome to the forum.

Are you saying that the tone arm and the cartridge is missing the record, i.e. falling short of the record and dropping down the side of the turntable.

If this is the case then your tone arm adjustment are way off and I would look for one of the two pins that are on the rear of the tone arm that follow the tone arm cam has broken off or the tone arm cam is loose.

Thee are a number of adjustments that work hand in hand so you have to start going all through the adjustments starting at the first and working your way through them.

However you do need to check the transfer motor and the transfer linkage for any mechanical faults before checking the adjustments.

if its the transfer arm(the part that picks up the record)
it could be jammed(dirt etc)
or a faulty micro(left side of mech)

If the gripper bow is physically sticking totheside of the turntable, more than likely on one of the plastic pegs that the gripper bow rests on whilst playing the record.

This is an mechanical adjustment and has nothing to do with the cam switches. In over 30 years of working on 1100 & 1200 mechanisms I have never had to change a cam switch microswitch, I have adjusted plenty but never had to change any and I have repaired & services hundreds of these mechanisms.

the arm that picks up the vinyl record sticks to the rubber on the turn table, is there an adjustment to lower the turntable 1/16 inch lower? if I push the arm off the turn table the arm places the record on the turn table, then when the song is finished it picks up the record but does not stick when returning the disk back.

Hello Danny,

You need to adjust the tone arm that is out with regards to its starting at the begining of the record.
Please consult your manual with regards to the adjustments.
