Wiring arcade cab on/off switch

Picked up an old Astron Belt cabinet and it has one of the metal on/off buttons located at the back on top of the cabinet.  Currently it has two wires coming off it with a 2-prong molar plug that isn't connected to anything.

Does anyone have experience with wiring these switches?

I'd like to restore its functionality.

Cut one of the two sides of the incoming power cord (the real power ones, not the third green pin) and insert the switch in the gap.

Thanks.

I was able to have a friend over tonight that assisted.  We located the spot where the previous owners of the cabinet rewired where the switch was supposed to be located and also identified the power cord's white wire as live.

Now I just need to pick up a 2-prong molar connector and wire it up.

Welcome aboard, kittyfox.

If you're rewiring anyway, you may want to do the wires in standard colors to prevent confusion:

black=hot
white=neutral
green=ground

P.S. What is a molar connector???  Dental bridgework?  Shouldn't a 2-prong one be called a bicuspid? (a.k.a. premolar) :laugh2:  I keed, I keed.

Perhaps you meant Molex.
