I've lurked on the forums a bit recently and collected a ton of useful information over the last few months. Last month I decided I would pull the trigger and pick up a NEO GEO.
Note: Buying an arcade machine from a warehouse auction is probably better done in person than online....lesson learned. haha
So I have a LOT of work ahead of me. Battery mod will likely be done this weekend while I have the system torn apart to rebuild the control panel. (hopefully all my pieces come in by tomorrow or Saturday at the latest). I went for convex LED buttons instead of the standard solid concave ones. I'm really looking forward to getting those in asap.
I started a page on Facebook to follow the restoration process. I'll probably cross-post between there and here with more of the photos being listed there.

Someone spilled soda all over the control panel quite a long time ago. When I took the unit apart I noticed that one of the credit counters had some damage to the LED area. Totally superficial. From what I could tell, it didn't cause an issue with the functionality of the piece and I don't recall seeing any issues when it was displaying...however, it's sticky and will likely harm the new overlay if I don't clean it...so, a) what can/should I clean that with? and b) think sharpie would be fine to touch that area up after cleaning?
I appreciate the input and look forward to sharing the restoration with you.
