Rowe AMI CD100-C Amplifier Question
« on: June 06, 2012, 01:18:21 pm »
I am converting a Rowe/AMI Cd100c Jukebox to a PC mp3 jukebox. The previous owner stated the Amp was working fine. I plugged my computer into the amp with RCA cables. For about 5 seconds I have great sound then it fades to nothing. If I unplug the amp I will get a second or so of sound again (like the capacitor is discharging).  Also, the orange wire with black strip coming from the amp with a 4 prong female connector is not plugged into anything.

It is my understanding that the Orange/black wire is for muting. Is there a way to bypass the muting circuit? Someone told me to put 12 volts to the Orange/black wire and the amplifier will un-mute.

I fixed the problem. It was a broken wire to the amp from the volume control. Thanks anyway!

actually grounding this wire will unmute the amp.
