Stern's "Big Game" Noob Question
« on: May 11, 2012, 02:40:10 pm »
Hey all,

Just got my first pinball ever!  Stern's Big Game.
Now I'm not a complete noob to computers or electronics but I am new to pinball machines.  I've gone through the manual and have a good idea of the layout of the machine.  No big deal really.  So here's my issue...

Apparently when you power on the MPU blinks and signals (red light) 2 slow tones then seven tones in a row indicating proper operation.  Well mine does the two slow tones then only four of the seven tones.  I've done a one over on the machine and found a burnt resistor on the solenoid driver board but that's all the obvious things I could see.  And the manual doesn't explain the tones and what they mean.  Can anyone direct me with some pinball wisdom?

Thanks!
Beck

http://www.pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Bally/Stern should get you started.  PBJ's got links to the guys slinging Clay's repair guides too.

Shipping something from the U.S. to Canada for repair/exchange?  Please use USPS to avoid (additional?/excessive?) shipping charges.  PM me if you have any questions.
