Knievel's 2011 Jets Cocktail
« on: March 09, 2012, 11:28:19 am »
So I've never posted one of my cocktail projects but I figured this one was worth a look.

I consider this the Pee-Wee version of the 2011 Jets upright I did.

It's running the infamous 60-in-1 board, zippy joys, those imported led buttons and a 20" Dell LCD.
Not much more to say I guess.

Enjoy the pics and GO JETS!

A little more practice and you are going to get pretty good at building these arcade projects. :D

This is a shameless threadjack, since you didn't put them in this project, but I've been meaning to ask:  what gear have you been using for illuminated balltop joysticks?

Lookin' really good Knievel! I like it!
Are you going to put some legs under it?  Seems like it could use some to get off the carpet a bit, I wouldn't want to see the wood along the bottom getting damaged by potential movement.

Close game last night. Happy that the 'nucks won, but I wouldn't have minded losing to the Jets.
Nostalgia still keeps 'em in a special place in my heart.

Is there a build thread for this project?  I'm going to be building a cocktail cab soon and this looks like a nice table to use as inspiration.

THE MAN doesn't do build threads. He makes announcements now and then to remind us just who is king. Then everyone scrambles to figure out just how he did it.  ;)

Beautiful machine, as always.

Thanks guys!

Yea Greg I think I'm starting to get the hang of it :)

Answers..

alfonzotan - Not sure what you are looking at as I haven't used lighted balltops before.

opt2not - The cabinet is actually a full inch off the ground, pics are deceiving.
I've got casters under there so it can be moved around. Incase you are watching the game at a friend's house ;)

gbeef - ??

Unstupid - Afraid not. Could give you some cabinet dims. I made the top by ordering the art/glass first and tracing that onto the wood.

Mountain - LOL..and thanks

My bad, I guess I was thinking about the Evolution sticks, but looking at it again I see those are battops.  Maybe I'm just still bitter about you Thrasher-nappers...

Very nice.  Cab with that layout would have looked great in the atrium at Philips Arena...

Man...another reason it sucks to live in the ATL.  But, the weather is great!!

(P.S.  I grew up in Hartford in the era of Gordie and Mark Howe...good times!!)
