Need some help with J-Pac (Stuck input?)
« on: March 17, 2012, 08:28:08 am »
I just bought a J-Pac. I turn on notepad on the pc, connect the j-pac, and as soon as I turn it on I notepad starts to fill up with q62 q62 q62 q62 q62 q62....
I assume I have a stuck input somewhere.  How do I figure out what it is?

When I turn on the same arcade cabinet with an mv1b pcb, everything works fine.

Double check your wiring. P1 button 3 (if notepad is seeing the space), P2 button 3 (q), P2 start (2), and P2 coin (6). Those wires may be connected to the NC contacts of the switches, or it is also possible you may have a short somewhere. See what happens in notepad when you press one of those buttons. If "q" stops coming up when you press P2 button 3, more than likely your wire is connected to the wrong switch terminal.

ETA: Also, the table at the bottom of this page may help you in troubleshooting your problem. Use columns 1 and 4 for the J-PAC.
