MK4 To MK3 Conversion
« on: March 20, 2012, 09:38:18 pm »
Not sure if I should put this in the Restoration section or not because I am not technically restoring anything. I recently bought a very nice MK4 that I am adding to my collection. I also came across another MK4 is lesser condition that I wanted to convert to MK3. So, here is the preliminary work. I still need to make a control panel and have the art printed up, but that's about it....

Before...

Sideart, Marquee, and Instruction Card installed...

Current collection - 28 cabs, 4 pins. (32 machines and not enough room)

The masking tape is holding in the t-molding because I had to use wood glue to keep it in the channel due to it not staying in on it's own...

Just need to get the control panel built and I'm all done...

Got the control panel completely done! It kicked ---my bottom---. This was the final piece of the puzzle to complete the conversion.....

...All Done!!....

I'm jelly.  Can you get me a set of that front and side MKII art, and 2 CPOs?
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

Unfortunately, I don't make them. My local print shop does and the CPO's come out too dark. Only the sides and fronts look good. If I had them print them up for you, it's usually a 2-3 day turnaround time and another 2-3 days to send them to you. I can send you the art files instead if you think that would be easier. Then you could just have them printed up at your leisure.

Great job on the conversion.  I think i'm almost ready to begin my MK collection.  I would love a copy of the files if you wouldn't mind.  msaxton@gmail.com

Thanks,
