KeyWiz not loading settings
« on: August 03, 2012, 09:54:55 am »
Well ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, I thought I was done and today something popped up.  I have a 4-player cab and configured player 3 and 4 the way I wanted with the KeyWiz software.  I thought I had the uploader software set up correctly, but every time I reboot, the keywiz software hangs.  Running XP.  I have been reading a lot of threads with similar issues.  Does the KeyWiz software not work 100%?  Do I need to put the .exe in startup?  What am I missing?

We sell a lot of KeyWiz's, and the extremely high majority have no problems with the software.  That being said, in the PC world where there are hundreds, if not thousands of different hardware solutions to the same problem, combined with the same number of system configurations, software setups, etc, there can be challenges occasionally.

Check your configuration for software which takes over the system, especially at boot time.  Overzealous virus protection software or viruses, malware, etc can cause problems.  Also stripped down versions of the OS may be lacking the necessary components to support the software properly.  You can send me an email and I will see if I can provide some assistance in troubleshooting, once I have more information about your setup.

Alternatively, just map those controls in the application.  With applications like MAME, there is virtually no reason to ever need to change key configurations in the hardware.
