Sound effects for list scrolling

Finally using Mala again for my cab. I kinda gave up for a while because I couldn't get the OS working properly (you get what you pay for  ). The OS still does something weird (if you hit 'fire' and bomb' at the same time, the joy freezes until you double tap it). But I've learnt to live with that for now  Sucks for Scramble though...

Minor annoyance right now is that I can't seem to change all sound effects. I can change the sound for shifting left/right to different lists ok, but scrolling up/ down a list when looking for a game gives me a windows 'ding'. Same when I select a game. First off, what is that up/down function called? I can't tell in the descriptions, that would help me concentrate on just that one thing. And then of course, why is it some sounds can be changed and not others? What am I looking for to trouble-shoot this?

First, I'd turn on the debug logging.

To change sound effects, right click, choose options, then the Sounds and music tab, then Event Sounds tab, the Game List Movement option is the one you want (very first item on the tab).

one minor catch is you can only use WAV files here. I'm using mala 1.7.4beta and it didn't want to play MP3's for any of the sound effects. Not sure why, since Mala can play MP3s in other places.
