Problem with NSM ES 5.1 100 CD jukebox page mechanism
« on: November 03, 2011, 06:49:37 am »
Have a problem with the cd page mechanism on a NSM ES 5.1 100 CD jukebox.  Sometimes when the pages move from left to right and back the plastic page sticks, the page that tries to move hits into the one at the other side.  Any help would be much appreciated.

If you have filled the pages with title strips for the first time you probably have made the pages too thick.

You need to make the pages as thin as possible.  The CD jacket must only be the very front cover--- not the whole CD booklet.  This usually means destroying the booklet to get the front cover otherwise print them on paper.

If this is not your problem chances are all the pages need removed and reinstalled without skipping any grooves on the worm gear in the title page mechanism.

Be warned removing and reinstalling the pages is not for the faint of heart.

If your box is the one with the pages that flip like a book then all you need to do is bend the metal surrounding the pages slightly as the whole mechanism flexes over time causing binding.

This is my first time at using the mechanism after receiving it, it is second hand but looks in good order.  There are already cd covers in the plastic envelopes already, I will check if any maybe making it jam.  It only seems to jam when moving certain pages, this type slides the page from side to side, it does not flip over like a book.  The edge of the page sides sometime catch when the mechanism tries to slide it, I wondered about filing along the edge to make it more tapered, so it will slide over the page next to it, instead of catching into it.

Make sure that the plastic covers are in EVERY slot on the title pages. If one is sticking out it can catch. People tend to miss getting them in the little slots on the left and right of the title page.
