Makaron
« on: July 19, 2010, 11:08:05 pm »
Does anyone have Makaron working properly in MALA?

What does your command line look like?

If you also happen to have the games integrated with your main mame list via the
"multiple emus in the same list workaround", what does the Makaron part of your cmd file look like?

Would NullDC Naomi be easier?  (I'm using NullDC Dreamcast, but could never get the NAOMI version to work)

Thanks

Well, after fiddling with it for a while, it works!

Here is what I have.....

Had to install Closemul to get it to close properly.

Executable:

C:\Emulators\Programs\Makaron\Closemul.exe NAOMI.exe

Command Line:

%path%\%rom%.%ext%

In the Closemul.ini file:

Exit Key 1=27
Exit Key 2=Alt+F4

(closes on Esc key)

I'm still playing around with it on my desktop using an xbox controller.
I haven't mapped the keys yet for my arcade setup.

Makaron will give you an error message if the settings in the configuration file don't match what the rom expects.
(i.e. region code, vertical monitor)
I might try to work around this by using the "multiple emus in the same list" workaround and having a separate
folder, NAOMI.exe & NAOMI.ini for each type.  Need to add the games to the mame xml file first so they show up.

No idea when I'll get time to do this.
I have way too many projects started and I just keep starting others.  :-\

continuing my conversation with myself......   :lol
(but maybe someone will pick up something useful from it)

It's possible to rename the .dat files to whatever you like and Makaron will still run them.
Simplifies game list editing.

How do you make Makaron fullscreen?

I'm also still having a hell of a time configuring the control scheme for my X-Arcade Tankstick.  Anyone having any luck there?

I'm using T12/5

Fullscreen=1 in the cfg file.

Hex key codes in this thread:

I don't remember if you are able to use the oddball keys like ALT, CTRL, etc.

You might have to config your x-arcade to use other keys.
If you do that, you'll have to press the program button on the back of the x-arcade every time you start the computer up to load the alternative mappings.
