The monitor area is covered by a dark plexi that extends to approximately 1" below marquee area.

Thanks menace. Regarding that unknown angle of the control panel, I can determine that angle if you have the length of the monitor plexi. Did you measure that?

I was just provided with some plans for a Popeye cabinet. I believe its the same cabinet as DK, Mario Bros... i have some clarifications to make with the person who gave me them so I will have them up within a few days hopefully.

An Update (finally). Thank you to crsdawg for providing me with great dimensions for a Robotron 2084 cocktail cabinet. It's similar to a Defender/Stargate cocktail, but not quite the same. Got the plans up and ready to download. Check it out:

I saw this topic posted on here several weeks ago, and I just ran across this web site a few moments ago and thought of you guys. You can get accurate 3D models of MANY cabinets at this web site.

Thanks kldavis, but I've already talked to peter about this models. They are all based off of pictures and are probably not entirely accurate. When I offer plans I want to make sure they are accurate down to about 1/8" if possible. My plans are not perfect by any means but they are extremely accurate.

Hi all,

I'm quite new to the arcade scene, but am looking at building my first cab, an 80's cocktail style!
Could anybody help provide plans for a cab similar to this one? I'm guessing it's more of a generic cab than one for a specific game.

I would really appreciate any help people could give to this one - I've already got the chrome T-moulding on order

I have also started to model it out using Pro/ENGINEER and would be quite willing to provide the final models and drawings once I'm happy with the dimensions - sadly it's just a bunch of guesswork at the moment

I'm not sure what game that 'generic' cocktail comes from... I can't remember who it was who created that 3d render, but I believe that design is their own original creation. The closest I can guess as to what it's from is the old space invaders style, but its still way different from that.

Thanks for the reply, I guess I'll have to stick with my estimated dimensions and make it up myself - it's an excellent design and I hope the creator of the render is happy with me to create my own cab under their inspiration.

I'll post anything that I manage to do. I was particularly interested in this design as it would allow two players to play side-by-side which could be achieved by lengthening the control box a little. The reason I want a two-player cocktail is that the missus only gave me permission to make one because she thought she was getting a coffee table out of it!!!

First of all I'd like to thank Jakobud for doing this. I'm planning to start on a cab project after the holidays, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one who finds this info to be extremely helpful.

I'd like to request Joust, unless it uses the same cab as one of the ones you've already done.

Here's a list of cabinets that I got dimensions for on Sunday but have yet to have time to draft them up. I will not really have time to get them drafted until after Jan 4 since I will be outta town. But soon after that, I should have them rolling in.

note: all of these are full upright cabinets unless specified otherwise.

if any of you could hook me(and in that us) up, it would mean SO very much. There doesn't seem to be _ANY_ plans anywhere on the net that I've been able to find.

Hmmm... there was a MVS (4 game) Neo Geo cabinet at that arcade on Sunday and I didnt measure it. I only had time to measure about half the cabinets I wanted to there. I will get that one next time...

They're two different sets of plans. The original set was a Pac-Man/Galaxian cocktail, and this new one is a Ms Pac/Galaga cocktail. Like the uprights, the two look similar, but are different.

What part of the cab do you think is too big? I didn't compare yours to other cabs, but is it the height, width, or depth of the cab that bothers you? Looks good on paper. Thanks for the info.

Here's a good resource for Neo-Geo cabs. There's no plans, but plenty of pics and manuals. You'll have to be more specific on which type of MVS cab you want. Seems they made a ton of them. I had plans on using the 4/6 slot MVS where the coin door sticks out further than the base of the cab as the root of my design.
