Thanks! I think any sort of bezel for the monitor would be antithetical to the minimalist build principles, but I can definitely see how it would benefit from some paint or vinyl dye. You're right about the cord, originally the power cord was supposed to exit out the bottom but there's a cross-piece there that prohibits it. Also the plug head wound up being too big. I've a new design in mind that will allow for the power cord to exit out the bottom.
