Is this a hack job??
« on: May 31, 2011, 04:13:45 pm »
Hey everyone got another question (Sorry if this is not the right location),  I saw an Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 the other day, with a very large control panel, the sides extended outwards about 5 inches on each side.  I can't seem to locate it anywhere else.  When I go to KLOV, they just show the standard control panel.  Any thoughts?

Isn't there overhang on all sides of a MK CP?

If it was still a Midway style cabinet, it's probably a 4 player game (e.g. NBA Jam) that's been converted to MK3.  The standard MK panel the same width as the cabinet.  The edges of the panel do "hug" the sides of the cabinet, but that only makes the total outside width wider by 2x the thickness of the cabinet material.

If it's not even a Midway style cabinet, well, then it's definitely a conversion.

you know come to think of it.. the marquee/speaker area does protrude out further than a Standard MK cab.

I assume you have looked for pics on the web matching the cab you saw. if you couldn't find any, its probably a conversion.
