Decased and mounted the Motherboard and Hard drive this weekend.  I am noticing I will need some ventilation.  I am thinking about using a 3 inch hole saw to cut a hole in the bottom of the cab and re-using the computer fan and fan scoop to point it towards the mother board and heat sink area.



I am also looking for a way to plug this thing in with a regular D-cable (three prong computer cable)  I have seen some people have some solutions here but I forgot what it is called to be able to search for this.

I don't want to just drill a hold and snake a cable through.  I kinda want it to look nice seeing it is coming out a lot better than my wife had thought (she had no faith in me)

search for "iec 320 socket", or do what I did and take one out of a broken LCD.

Thanks for your interest.  I haven't finished it yet.    I left it at wiring up the controls and the ipac.    It is in my living room being used as a cocktail table with out he video game playing part

My phone with all my photos got messed up  but you have inspired me today to try to get it to work and get the photos off it.

I am asshamed of myself for not finishing it but I can right this.  (wow this sounds like a speach from brave heard  )

How come there are no air vents?  Did you order it that way?  are you not worried about the computer overheating?

I used my hole saw and cut one on the bottom.  Cool air from the bottom and vent out the top near the controller on both sides.

should have a good air flow.  Three fans total.    The computer is slow and it doesn't get two hot in there at all.

As promissed here is the hole I cut for the vent and I installed a fan to pull cooler air from the floor up



I also made my own grommet for my power cable out of an arcade button.

Seemed to work out pretty well. I took the button part out and just used the shell.

Final finished photo in the living room.  Works great.  Sorry took me so long.  I needed to get away from video gaming for awhile.  I see there has been a ton of new changes here.

Thanks.  My goal was to make it match the living room as much as possible.  I wanted to make it look like a piece of furniture other than a arcade cocktail table. 

It fits the room pretty nice and most people don't even notice it is there.

Thanks but to be honest.  The chairs are more looks and comfort than they are for gaming.  You sink in them when you sit down and make it very hard to play.   

But they look good so that makes the wife happy 

I have an autographed stool (from the first kong off) that i use.  It works a lot better to be sitting up pretty high.
