My first mame cab, Golden tee conversion almost finished!
« on: April 02, 2012, 09:16:36 am »
Picked up a Golden Tee cab locally for $90 delivered back in December. Finally after a few hours a week since then, its almost complete! A short breakdown of what i did....
Filled the pre exesisting button holes with dowel rod and 20 minuite epoxy, redrilled for 2 player, 7 button, trackball controls w/ dedicated 4 way. Sticks are Zippyy bubble tops. Coin mechs work and lighted, trackball and main buttons also lit. Hardware includes a 27" toshiba tv, managed to fit the tv w/ case intact in the cab. 4" car speakers. PC is a 2.2ghz amd dual core, 4 gb ram, ati x1800xl AIW card, W7 64bit, MAME .144, fusion for sega genesis, and nulldc for dreamcast, Hyperspin as front end. Plan on adding SNES, NES, Daphne so far, may add older systems later. What still needs done....going to add ledwiz w/ led blinky, change out a few CP buttons, order new marquee. The marquee lighgt shows thru the woofers and makes them look lit too! Only issue so far is nulldc, I get really bad slow down on games, starts out a 60fps then drops during heavy action. it seems my pc specs should run this fine!? Not sure if the GPU is too slow, cpu too slow or settings not right, but i think i tried all of them...may try demul or marakon. Will update...
