Weird issue when having roms on networked drive
« on: May 05, 2011, 05:24:59 pm »
I decided to move my roms to my media server and then just have my mame cabinet grab them over the network.  Sounds easy enough....but......

I mapped the rom folder so I can access it on my cabinet.  If I fire up MAME32 by itself and give it the network location for the roms.....works great.
But when I use Maximus, and set the network location for the roms......nothing.

Anyone ever set it up this way?
Everything on my media server gets backed up nightly, and I would like to keep my roms there so I'm not out searching for them all again if my machine would crash.

Why not keep a copy in both places? (Mame cab and network)

It's not like you're going to be making changes to the roms that often.

You specifying the network location via the \\host method or a mapped drive?  I'd map the share to a drive letter and use that.

I've tried it both wasy....specifying the network location, and also mapping the drive and doing it that way...nothing :(
