This might be useful for updating or doing maintenance on older mame machines without the internet or networked, or  no mouse or keyboard. Just a usb port and a laptop.

I used one of these for a cab computer (different brand tho). Mine works pretty slick and had the transfer software integrated right into the cable, so no installation of software needed.

Mine did need that I activated the built in application on both computers, so i did need a mouse. I'm not sure if that is the case with this cable or not. No matter what, it sure beat multiple trips with a flash drive.  :afro:

Yea I think this one does have the transfer software. It's not really a KMV per say, more of a data cable w/ control software. You must install software on both first and I've got no idea how far backwards compatabile it is. Supposedly works with 64bit though.

It also rescale/resize's the screen for your LCD (TV's anyone?)

It was around $40 a while ago, but with windows7 remote desktops I assume these are becoming obsolete with the newer operating systems. But maybe for an 800 MHz xp (win 98?)?
