Rock-Ola 474 Sybaris : Replacement Connectors
« on: February 07, 2011, 10:23:08 pm »
Hello all

I'm restoring my first juke, a Rockola 474 Sybaris. The problem I have is that the connectors on most control boxes are extremely dry and the break as soon as I try to remove them to service the boxes. Not very practical indeed...

I spent quite some time yesterday on DigiKey trying to figure out the AMP part number to replace those connectors. Some of them are from the MATE-N-LOK family and I found a perfect match including the crimps. I plan to order those with a contact extraction tool and transfer the pins from the old housings to the new ones.

However I cannot locate the correct part for a few connectors. A 3-pin panel-mounted housing on the Animation Light Controller and a 21-pin on the Credit Unit. The 3-Pin as the number AMP 480758 but I cannot find anything with the part number. Any idea where I can get the proper replacement housings? If these are no longer available what you guys a doing when a connector is broken?

Thanks a lot,

Eric
