27" Sanyo CRT TV Resolution Q

This might very well be a dumb question, but I received a free Sanyo 27" TV, and it has a standard RCA for Video-In.  Is there a 'standard resolution' that CRT TV's have, or is it usually specific to the model?  (I wish I knew the model of the TV so I could look it up, but at the moment, I do not.)

ntsc broadcast is (er, was ) 550 lines . after ingnoring lines used in  syncronization/ RF conversion losses , etc... that leaves around 330 to <400 lines .

composite video direct from source bypasses this conversion loss resulting up to around 450 lines .

rgb bypasses chroma processing losses. thus, gaining a wee bit more res.....

Hmm. Now that you mention the line count, that makes me think. Isn't a common 'old school' output "640x400"?  If I'm connecting to the standard RCA video input (all I have) does it sound right that this might be the setting I'll be choosing?

that sounds 'bout right ...h/v sweep frequencies of 15.734khz and 59.9hz
