MALA + AAE + Star Wars Yoke (original) + sidewinder usb Hack
« on: November 01, 2010, 10:44:12 pm »
Hello all,

I successfully converted a microsoft sidewinder with my Star Wars yoke and it works like a charm (i will post pictures).  My problem is that I cannot get it working with AAE.  It works with MALA and MAME.  I thought there was a joystick verison coming out but I think I have the latest version with no joystick support.  Anyone know or have this combination working?  Can't be too many, so I know this is a long shot.

Try to map the keyboard controls by moving the yoke and clicking the buttons has no effect (which is how i got it to work with MAME)

thanks all!

Gary

Gary, as far as I know there's no joystick support in AAE. Now, how about selling me that yoke?  ;D

That is correct. However, you could try Joy2Key, or a similar product to make the joystick look like a keyboard. Not sure how that would work as the yoke is analog though.

By the way, you can remove that pesky bar at the top by editing your AAE config file and make sure that "windowed" is set to zero.

And I'm also enjoying my Ram Controls Yoke #1 as well...

:D
