Any idea on how to make gamevideo's?

I need technical & practical advice  regarding equipmnet and software. I've never worked with digital wideo (orther than poking about with a few  programs for  very limited time.)  I have bought a good (and updated book) so i have the basics). I  have also been a Protools engineer as long as man has worked on earth. (But that was audio only).

I don't want to go out and buy highly expensive equpiment, I'll rater take  the cheapest sloution to be found. But i'm open for any proposals  for ssoftware and hardware since i might fall in love wit film/video makingf. I've browsed the net and could really not find any converters that takes the pc output and turns it in decent video signal. 8some vere still picure conveters, as i anyone would by such outdated hardware).

Maybe i'm looking in the wrong direction. Please help me if you know anything, or just a little bit about someof the processes involved and equipment needed.

When up and running I'll make video snaps of consoles that noone has bothered to make.
