Sidewinder amperage question

I am trying to put together the control panel.  Then I had this idea about a toggle switch.  Some games use a four way other games use eight way.  Since I don't need to use both joysticks at the same time.  With the sidewinder you only get so much inputs. So I went out to Radio Shack and bought a toggle switch.

The question I have is what is the amperage flowing thru the wires connected to the Sidewider.  I have a 20 guage wire soldered on the holes.  The switch I bought is rated 6A at 125VAC.  But they also have a 3A at 125VAC.  I don't know which is correct.

With the toggle switch, I plan to daisy chain the ground from both joysticks to the switch and then the ground from the toggle switch to the Sidewinder.

Simple enough. So the layout will be like  
8-way   4-way  then buttons.  It is only me in this household playing. No need for big fancy one.

Either switch would work fine.  The amperage involved in a game pad is measured in milliamps which are 1/1000 of an amp.
