good source for control panel overlay?
« on: March 02, 2010, 08:39:51 pm »
Just starting to convert a JAMMA cabinet to MAME. Anyway, I am going with the existing control panel for now but want to get rid of the ugly warn out overlay. I am thinking of just doing a plain black overlay for now since I will be eventually upgrading the control pannel at a later date. What is my best low cost choice for a black overlay? I was thinking of going with a black vinyl overlay. Where is a good place to get one?

Thanks!

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

I know this is a super old thread, but does anyone know where to buy black vinyl overlay in local stores?  Like is that kinda stuff available at Home Depot, Lowes, Ace or Harbor Freight?  Or perhaps Hobby Lobby or Michaels?

I did some looking around and I think you are out of luck unless you want your CP to look like a wood floor (vinyl imitation wood flooring at home depot)  no other place had anything even close.
