MUGEN looks like a lot of fun, but also looks like a pain in the butt.
I started thinking if I could play MK3 with added custom characters that might add enough novelty to the game to make me interested in it again.
Is MUGEN worth the time and energy it'll take to set up on a cabinet?
Is there an accurate version of MK3 for MUGEN, what is the name of it and which version of MUGEN do I need?
What's a good website to go to learn about MUGEN?
You can't play MK3 on mugen... you can use some characters based on mk3 characters (sprites ripped from game and same movesets) but that's as close as you'll get.
Depends on how much you are into fighting games and how tolerable you are to games of questionable quality. For me at least, it wasn't. Don't get me wrong some of the games can be fun,
it's just mugen is such a collossal pian in the butt to deal with that it wasn't worth the effort just to get a few characters (some of them TERRIBLE) inserted to my favorite games.
Not really. The rule of thumb for mugen is to take a game and mutilate it beyond recognition by adding waaay too many characters. There are exceptions, but not many.
There are some really deciated mugen guys out there who've probably done as close a job as you possibly can with the engine, but due to the simple fact that they are on another engine
the mk3 characters are never going to be 100% accurate.
Sorry, don't have a clue on that one. MUGEN is old as dirt in internet terms. It took forver just to get an official windows release.
