Remove coverup?

Hi, first post and so glad to be here and finally starting cabinet.
I am working with 2 player X-MEN cab that had been converted. Side art had been covered with a shiny embossed material. Working carefully with a hair dryer left side stripped off  in a couple hours, art work is in almost perfect shape a definite keeper! The cover up on the right side is much tougher to remove with the same method, have moved up to a real heat gun (adjustable) and have tried a couple of gentle solvents even vinegar (like wallpaper remover)
The adhesive here is so strong, I only have a very small patch removed. Anyone seen this stuff before? What else might work here?

Would lighter fluid work? I was wondering if you can pull a piece up...take the lighter fluid and squirt it where you can lift up and pull away ( one big piece)...The arcade I worked at when i was a kid, we used to take lighter fluid and use it to clean gunk on any of the cabs...

O.K. garnerb! The lighter fluid slowly started to melt the vinyl(?) it told me yes -  this wants to be done chemically. I didn't want to do it but I broke out the big guns, lacquer thinner and acetone. I just stumbled out of the cellar and the job is done. Thanks man!

Yeap i'm working on restoring an old Mr Do cab and I used it regulary...what you can do also is take it and let it sit for a couple of min ...and it will allow you to wipe that side clean...
