Ive been reading up on this topic and I noticed it was discussed about the same time last year...Since a year has passed, has any progress been made since?....

MAME being able to play Laserdisk games (i.e Dragon's Lair)

I've been thinking about this...I recently recieved the files myself to play Daphne and they are not working and inbetween the times of crying and anger of why I cant figure Daphne out....I exclamed with beer in one hand and a mouse in the other and with a drunken stupor exclaimed "Why cant they be easy as MAME?!!!*&^%$#E%^**^".... :angry:

I recently ordered a TB external Hard drive and I'm going to install everything Arcade I have on it ( that way I can plug n play whenever...Got the MAME, got the pinball...recently got Daphne, and waiting to get the Nintendo and others...Trying to figure out Daphne and it is kicking my arse...Soon I will get the supplies needed to build the cab... This noob has his work cut out for him....Wish I knew if there was any Mamers from NC to help.

Sorry had to vent...but I noticed the topic of Mame Laserdisk emulation and I havent heard any updates yets...

MAME has several laserdisc games that are now working (Cube Quest, Fire Fox, M.A.C.H. 3, Us vs. Them), so it's coming along. 

Daphne shouldn't be that hard to get up and running, though.  As I recall, there have been some pretty helpful posts here within the past few months, and if you can provide some specifics, I'm sure more help will be on the way.

where do i begin...
Ive got the older versions of Daphne...99.6-7...and I placed my roms in the correct files...moved the m2.v files to a folder, opened daphne loader configured the location of the mpegs and created a framefile...every game skips or freezes... I cant figure it out and I know it says to read the text log...only thing though is that what it is telling me...I cant figure out..."flushing timers ( remove me later)" WTF? VDLP .cpp cannot play file...etc...blah blah blah...its all greek to me... Part of me is telling me to walk away and come back when i have a calm head....

That's always good advice.  I'll take a look at my Daphne stuff tonight and try to respond tomorrow, unless someone else can help you out before then.

From what I understand, games emulated by Daphne are a lower priority since they're already emulated. But I think the intention is to ultimately get to them.
My Collection: Mame cab, 38 dedicated vids, pin, skeeball, coin op air hockey table, Ice Cold Beer, Megatouch, 2 token machines, and payphone (VAPS, pics at Arcade Crusade)

Add Ambience to your mame cab setup

It seems to me some members of MameDev, particularly Aaron, are interested in the challenge of adding in these games. A lot of progress has been made since they've started.

As for Daphne toil and trouble, well, you're not alone....but I'm not in the crowd, so's I've no idea how to help you. Piece of cake for me.
