Robocop in US Military?
« on: November 29, 2007, 05:43:07 am »
U.S. military develops Robocop armour for soldiers

Quote
We may have seen it all before in science-fiction films. But the bionic warrior is in fact a vision of real-life warfare in the 21st century. U.S. defence chiefs hope to have their troops kitted out in the outlandish combat gear as soon as 2020.

Included in the Pentagon's Future Warrior Concept are a powerful exoskeleton, a self-camouflaging outer layer that adapts to changing environments and a helmet which translates a soldier's voice into any foreign language.

Way cool.

I hate to be nit-picky, but robocop is 90% robotic... aside from a pair of lungs and a heart, the only thing non-robotic about rc is his head. In other words, he's a full-on cyborg, not some guy wearing a suit. So what you meant to write was "Aliens powerloader suit in US Military?"  ;)

Well I didn't write that headline, but indeed it's not very robocop. The pictures in the article don't really look like the suit they are using in the video clip. The suit in the clip even looks like it needs a hook to hang it from something.

Mabye it's more like the suit that Samus wears in Metroid Prime? Or those robot suits from The Matrix?

It's the beginning of Tony Stark's Iron Man armor
