MAME - How to Reset Settings?

I managed to screw the pooch and map my P1 button as both UI SELECT and UI EXIT.  Now every time I go in to try to change stuff it just exits as I can't select.

Anyone know what file to delete/change/etc to reset settings back to MAME default?

Have you tried replacing the exe file.

Is it a matter of just replacing the EXE file?    The .INI file doesn't have any of the options saved in it from what I can see.   The exe I am using is a custom compiled one... I hope I have it around somewhere.  I ASSUMED there was an external file that held all the UI settings, etc...

Nope...replacing the EXE doesn't do squat...grrr...

For those interested...

The answer is "DEFAULT.CFG" in the "CFG" directory.  Alternatively you can go in and edit the one offending key map...which I did.
