reasonably hand drawn facsimile of a BYOAC post
« on: April 03, 2006, 10:51:21 pm »
So I was reading CNN last week and I came across this article about the New Orleans School Board auctioning off their salvaged buses.  So I went over to ebay and searched for it.  Only one.

[light goes on]

I immediately draw a picture of a school bus, mark it as a "reasonably hand drawn facsimile of a new orleans school bus" and posted it on ebay starting it at $0.01.

The ebay link.

Well...  since then I have decided to donate 100% of the proceeds to the School Board.

Check it out.  Pass it on.  Bid often.

(Oh, on saturday I had a mention in a New Orleans Times Picayune)

That's really funny.  :laugh2:
I am trying to find the CNN link to submit your e-bay auction.

Very inspiring! I don't want the bus picture, but here is my donation to the School district. Just click print as many times as necessary.

Well, "reasonable" is a matter of opinion......  ::)
hmmm....wonder if I can get anything for my 3-year old's "picasso's" stuck to the fridge?   ;D
nice one for charity though...was over $300 last time I saw it....one of the questions @ the auction:

Q: In honor of the 6,000th hit, will 120% of the proceeds be donated to the Orleans Parish School District?
 Apr-04-06
A: The artist was thinking more like 12%. (the artist's lawyer has requested that the disclaimer be made that the response to this question was intended to be a joke and that it is not only not funny, but it is also not true. 100% of the proceeds to the school board.)

Well, "reasonable" is a matter of opinion......  ::)

It doesn't claim to be a "reasonable facsimile", just that it's "reasonably hand drawn".  In other words, it was hand drawn in a very reasonable way.

Q:    Wow, The Artist, someone outbid my $260 offer aweful quickly. I'm no longer High Bidder, rather Bid History. I do have a technical question which might cause a mandatory triumphant march to regain high bidder status on my part. If the reasonably hand-drawn facsimile of the bus were reasonably hand-drawn in 3D would the other side of the reasonably hand-drawn facsimile bus display a reasonably hand-drawn facsimile retractable stop sign or not. This would be entirely up to you as there is no photographic evidence pertinent to whether the real New Orleans Bus is equipped with this feature. If you were to draw a reasonably hand-drawn facsimile of the theoretical sign would it be the standard red sign with or without a reasonably hand-drawn facsimile of a flashing red beacon light. I await your response with my mouse arrow poised squarely on the bid confirm box, rarematters.

A:    The artist has conducted extensive research to answer your question. It turns out that the standard 1993 International Blue Bird bus was delivered with a retractable stop sign with TWO flashing red beacons (one above and one below the 'stop'). In order for a reasonably hand drawn facsimile of the left side of the new orleans school bus to really be considered a reasonably hand drawn facsimile of the left side of the new orleans school bus, it would have the above mentioned warning system (or at least a reasonably hand drawn facsimile of the above mentioned warning system). NOTE: this reasonably hand drawn facsimile is NOT equipped with a reasonably hand drawn facsimle of a Stop Arm at the front of the bus. A reasonably hand drawn facsimile of a driver must be very careful that there are not reasonably hand drawn facsimiles of little children in front of the bus before pulling away from a stop. Thanks for bidding.

uhhh my head hurts is that normal after reading this?
