Here's the "test panel" I built the other night. It will be mounted just inside the coin door on the right. I did a little more work on it tonight. I don't consider it really part of working on the machine because it only took about 5 or 10 minutes and it's sort of its own little thing. (At least that's my justification for keeping this a 1-day project.)
I call it a test panel, but it's really a power panel:
Red - power switch
Black - reset
round toggle - control panel lights on/off
Yes, I know I don't have a power switch on the outside. Yes, I know that's odd. I have my reasons, though. I didn't want to put a countersunk hole into my shiny new cabinet to hook up a pushbutton. I wanted to have my power button near my lights button, and I didn't want the lights button on the outside of the machine. That would have been wierd.
Also, rather than using a regular coin door lock, I'm using a "keyless lock". It's basically a latch that you can turn rather than using a key. It fits the standard lock's hole. That way my coin door stays closed and I don't have to fumble for a key. It looks very professional like it belongs there, too. It also makes it super simple to power up the machine since the power button is right inside the door.
