Yeah, Gmail is great.  In addition to having 2 GB of user space (twice as much as its nearest competitor) it has free POP compatibility, so you can interface Gmail with programs like Outlook Express and Mozilla Thunderbird.  These programs will make managing your address list and bulk emails and stuff WAY easier.  I know that Hotmail charges $20/year to be compatible with an email client and even then they don't use POP; they use some retarded proprietary format so it is ONLY compatible with Outlook Express.  God, I hate Microsoft.

Hey, I've got 50 invites!  Anyone wanting one pm me with your ....helmet size, Cletus ;D

I've never liked an "Outlook Express" type thing, but if Thunderbird lets you actually do BULK e-mail sending/grouping, I may check that out!

I know Hotmail used to allow you to do a bulk e-mailing by setting up "groups", but I haven't used them in so long, I lost the ability to care.

Aren't you just using it to send out mailings about your show dates and times?  You're not technically using it to increase traffic to your web site

But it would fall under non-commercial use maybe?  I already used it anyways.

I guess it's splitting hairs, but are YOU really the first person makling money here? Wouldn't it be the bars?

You don't need a free email host, what you need is a bulk email host. A mailing service in other words.

www.bravenet.com

They have one that is free up to 500 names. Sends custom newsletters in text and HTML.

NO MORE!!
