Need side art for first cab
« on: March 03, 2005, 08:53:10 pm »
So we picked up our first arcade cab about 2 weeks ago.  It's in pretty good shape however it needs new side art.  Being new to arcade cabinets I haven't had any luck finding it on the net.  Maybe someone here could help.  The cab is Ajax that was converted and has tatio side art on it.  I'd really like to find what side art should be on it so I can replace it.  Any help or any info on this cab would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Are you sure it isn't a taito cab converted to run ajax?

Yea it is a tatio cab that is converted to run ajax.  From what we were told it was converted from Qix, which is tatio.  It has the correct marquee and control overlay but I don't know what artwork to put on the side.

A few of us have been looking for a good trace of the taito sideart.  If it was a Qix, you should be looking at a whitish cab with black lines.  Any chance you could trace/scan the curved section next to the monitor area?

See this thread:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,19558.40.html

It has the right sideart then, just the "wrong" game.  Spriggy has been working on the Taito sideart (and has it uploaded to the art library), he said he might return to it and rework that area if he had an accurate scan.

I can't find a side pic of an ajax cab.  I swear I saw it before though.
