Convergence repair on 42" TV ...
« on: January 10, 2005, 01:10:03 pm »
I know it's off topic, but I don't know of any other place to post this.

I have a Sony 42" rear projection TV (circa 1993) that seems to have a convergence problem.  I opened the front, and it has a convergence board with about 50+ pots on it.  I've hooked up my PC to the SVideo port and output the Nokia monitor test tool images to it and can see the convergence problems.

I've been trying to tweak the convergence already for 2+ hours but feel like I'm going around in circles.

Is there a good method to get this thing to converge, or am I SOL and just give up?

Thanks.

try www.tv-forums.com or www.diybanter.com--the forums aren't nearly as active as this place but there seem to be alot of service techs there willing to help out.--good luck!
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...
