Red screen means your u53 security chip does not match the board, Shawn is correct... what year board was it when you got it( what did it say on the u53 chip)? I assumed you’ve changed the chip to the g45-ya-u as you can’t just upgrade the courses by swapping that g45 chip and drive. You also can not tell by that serial sticker what year/version it is.

The only one who could tell me what version board it might be is lilshawn. I bought it from him and added my security chip to it and got as far as the red screen. hes right now working on a solution for me. all I know is I have a 2005 usa security chip and this might be a Canada board that might need a g45-can-u chip

I'm still trying to find out. got the board from lilshawn and hes working on it to identify. maybe all I need is a Canada security chip.

He is the man with that stuff but in my experiences it hasn’t mattered if US or CAN, hard drive will work with either.

Thanks mclovin.  yes I agree. even told when I bought flash drive that if my board has the extra boards that I would get the extra boards. if not I would just get the standard, which told me its not the hard drive or flash that matters. just the security key and programming to the main board.

alrolon800,
Did you ever end up getting this board working? If not can I suggest that it's a country mismatch between your U53 and U61. If you still have your old board you could try swapping the U61's or find a new U53 that matches your U61 on your board.

For anyone interested here's a couple of documents that might help fixing these boards....

In my experience it doesn’t matter. Yes this is a tournament board. It’s probably different to yours. But every golden tee board I’ve ever worked on has had u61.

Lil shawn swapped boards for me. gave me a board complete with the Canadian sec chip and it works fine now. my usa sec chip did not work on the first board he sent me. guess you cant swap chips from Canada to usa on the green boards.  I still have a 2005 GT fore board that needs trouble shooting.

Hi,
I had the same thing happening on one of my red boards but ended up being a failed base memory chip. I just replaced them one at a time until it booted. It took me ages to find it but was stoked when it fired up

PS. If anyone is willing to part with a complete board or just a replacement security chip please send me a message. Have had a complete board for last few years which I’ve nailed it down to a failed u53 :((

Have a working u53, but need a working board?  Any chance you'd be willing to part with it?

Hi Lilshawn.  You seem to be super knowledgeable about this Golden Tee 2005 business.  I have a golden tee complete flash card that just stopped working during game play and has never booted up again.  I can get it into test mode by holding down the start button during boot up, but i have to remove the flash card and re-seat it to get the Status 1 light to begin to flash and read the card.  Ultimately upon test it will say sign port failed and board test failed.

I am perplexed.  Up in Sudbury Ontario and it seems working green boards have skyrocketed in price.  I ordered a new card reader/flash card/and 2.09 eprom and this seems to not solve anything, in fact it won't even read that card if re-seat this card.

Has anyone experienced this type of issue.  I have been working on getting it going for about a month now.  Argg

Hello Lilshawn.
I'm in Calgary, but I am needing some assistance for Golden Tee Fore Complete from 2006 for a Canadian region.  It's the red board.  I will be in Edmonton on September 6th, and I'd like to talk to you about it if possible.  Please let me know, thanks!
