Looks like code for neogep patch needs update from august. Nobody realized that some games are missing first two vertical lines from left :)

Fix will be with version 273.

Thanks for maintaining your custom version of Groovymame.
I had been using 0.272 and I am now using 0.273. Unfortunately, both versions (and possibly earlier versions but I haven't used them) display an error when running Galaxian.

The error is as follows:

That's because this game uses extra sound for jump. It's imported from ARCADE32/64. Perhaps I did this wrong or it's just work like this :/

- visible area modifications for many games in neogeo driver (mostly from 320x224 to 304x224 but for four games even to 288x224 - Zed Blade, Goal!Goal!Goal!, Gururin, Zupapa)

Hi friend. Take acount that there are some 312x224 neogeo games:

- Ninja Combat
- 2020 Super Baseball
- Last Resort
- Panic Bomber

I have tested Last Resort and your patch cuts some lines of the ingame area.

Besides this, a fix for Gradius 4 would be great.

Upgrading my Mame cabinet with the latest releases (I'm a couple years behind). All fresh new Romset, everything configured and working BUT 0.284 gives me a driver error message for karnovr.cpp when opening neogeo games. Something about non-sequential bios. This message does not appear when launching from the OG Mame exe. Any ideas?

Edit: For whatever reason, if I launch through a front end this message doesn't appear. So for my use this is not a deal breaker. Still seems to work just fine.

Not sure if this falls within the scope of this build, but there's someone working on fixes for CV-1000 slowdowns which are being added to unofficial builds as they indeed seem to improve the current emulation (despite not being an ultimate solution):

I think the fixes were meant to be added to official MAME, supposedly for 0.287, but I've been a bit out of the loop lately. Give me some time to check it out and I'll post back.

Robbbert found a workaround.  Not sure what it is, though.   :dunno
I did try out the possibility of fixing the windows 7 problem and it turned out to be quite simple. So the solution exists should anyone be interested.

Anyone interested should reply to his post in that other thread since he has opted to disable PMs and emails via his BYOAC account.
