Arcade mode for BlissBox 4-play Poll
« on: May 01, 2017, 03:19:38 pm »
I recently started a poll on the Blissbox forums in an attempt to add an arcade mode which favours fightstick and arcade cab owners.

If this goes through what it means is you could play a sega emulator with the arcade controls or a sega controller .
You could play 2 button Mame/Gameboy games with a NES or Master System controller, plug and play, no remapping, no joy2key or vjoy, just go.

It is also an important step forward in integrating the Blissbox with Retroarch.

Below is a copy of my post on the  Blissbox 4-play forums.

"This is a quick poll to see how many BlissBox owners have their Blissbox running inside an arcade cab or run Blissbox alongside a fightstick, or plan to in the future.

I've recently integrated a Blissbox into my cab by using a PS2 controller for the joystick and buttons.

This to me is the best if not only method that suits the standard/current 8 button plus start home select joystick.

Another method I have not tried is simply using a PS2 fightstick, or a PS3 one with an adapter. The later two methods would be solderless.

Once this is done you will find mappings don't favour your arcade controls, and your old 2 button controllers don't really work with emulators like MAME.

Try to play Mortal Kombat 3 on Gens with the arcade stick with the current mapping, your head will explode.

Below are 2 images of 5 controllers I have selected for this example.

I've shown the current and proposed mappings to a PS2 controller on the standard arcade layout.
Please vote and feel free to add your opinions."
