Model 2 and aimtraks = crash!
« on: December 31, 2010, 11:51:45 am »
I finally got everything up and running and now when I play model 2 games, they crash. More specifically the screen turns black, but the sound keeps going. Any help?

IIRC, there's an error when you shoot on the first row of pixels on the left side of the screen (like when the crosshairs stay there while you shoot offscreen to reload or aim the gun past the edge).  Try running it windowed or changing to raw input in the cfg file. (UseRawInput=1)

I've never used the aimtracks, but I think I had the issue with the positional gun games when playing them with a mouse.

I will try that! Will the raw input mess with MAME though?

No, it doesn't affect anything when the M2 emulator isn't running.
It just dawned on me that there might be some kind of option like that in the aimtrack setup.
(as stated, I have no experience with the aimtracks)
I was talking about the config file for the m2 emulator.
As long as the gun works as a mouse, this should work without messing with any gun settings.

With raw input enabled, you won't be able to move the mouse pointer beyond the window M2 is running in.
It can make it a little annoying during setup when you can't click on the tabs at the top.
You've probably figured that out by now though, lol.
