Surely someone has vectorized the Centepede side art.

That would be sweet... though I am sure that it has been done, not sure that those that have done it would be willing to give it away.  Thinking of the people who sell reproductions that is.  Wouldn't be good for business to give those away.

Looks like Jakobud is working on it. You might ask him about it.

Cool Thanks!   ;D  zorg - I noticed some things are listed as done and uploaded in the thread but are not on the download page.  For example the centipede cp overlay is listed as such and I don't see it at the http://edeveaud.free.fr/ site.  Should I be looking for it elsewhere?  Thanks...

This is just my opinion, but why would you use Centepede side art on a cab with no trackball and is designed for fighters?  I would look through images of fighting games and see which fighters costumes consist mostly of green or another color that accents green and use them as side art with your cab name.  It's your cab and you can do what you want, I just think it's weird.

See, I can and do play atari/williams etc. games on this machine too... ;)  I want to go with a theme, so I want something that goes with the Atari theme.  When I get around to doing a stand up I think that the theme will be SNK vs. Capcom.  Don't want them both to be the same.

I suppose I could do a Pit Fighter side art design and stay true to the Atari and Fighting aspect!  But that would suck.. :P  Hehehe...

yes this file is not available thru the URL you've mentionned, that's because this one is here to host the files I vectorized and traced myself. It wasn't set up in order to be a vector library repository. Mametrix was THE repo at this time.
but check this http://edeveaud.free.fr/tmp

Thanks, I thought that maybe it was a site that had all of the images together... My bad.  :)

Because the Centepede side art is way cool. What other reason would he need?  ;)  ;D

Damn strait it would!  ;D  I got a flat screen TV today and hooked it up to the machine via S-video today...  after messing around with it bit to get it to work well the picture is so much nicer to look at.  The only complaint I have is that the edges of the picture bends at times...  :(  Nothing I can't deal with though.

I have been pretty lazy lately and haven't gotten any real work done on the cab though...  I am hoping to get some motivation next weekend.  I have been playing the hell out of it though, in it's unfinished state.

Construction on my cab kind of stagnated for a while immediately after it became playable. I expect most MAME projects suffer from the same problem.  ;)

Well it has been a long time since I have updated this project (it had also been a long time since I had done any serious work on it too!)   :-\  BUT, finally an update!  :D  The project has changed alot especially in the fact that it really is not a Barcade any more.  I am not sure what I was thinking in doing a barcade since I don't have a bar and didn't really have anything to put it on, so I had to come  up with something so I decided to make a stand for it and have it be at a sit down level similar in height to a candy cab.  The stand is now fastened to the upper part of the cabinet detailed earlier in the thread and is bolted to it to keep it in place/stable.  I have also put a 21" monitor in it to replace the weak one that was in there before, the pc is located in the lower part of the cab.  I also built a frame to hold the monitor in the cab securely and mounted the speakers inside the cab (in the back facing up and away at a 45 degree angle.)  In this picture you can see the new stand for the cabinet and the 21" monitor, though the speakers had not been mounted and I had not built the mounts to hold the monitor up and in the cab so the monitor is a bit low in this pic.

Next I got some smoked plexi and a black backing to cover the ugly parts of the monitor and casing inside and set these up...  This part is pretty easy of course, but at the same time it makes so much of a difference in the look of the cab...  I am pretty pleased with how this part turned out.

Here is a pic that is a bit clearer of the cab.  I am almost done, the only things I have left to do are get some speaker grills and mount them over my speakers and to figure something out for side art... then she is all done!   ;D

It looks pretty good as it stands, with no sideart... very clean.

The white and green makes me think of like a cabaret SEGA VF3-style cab actually.

Seeing your project makes me appreciate the smoked plexi idea...  that is a tight-looking cab!  Great work!  :)

Looks very cool.

You reminded me that I really don't have a place to put my bartop, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it... maybe I can fit it in my apartment at school somewhere... I'm sure that'll help my work ethic :)
first off your and idiot

That green is really fricking slick man! I like that. 1 thing is the Atari logo, it doesn't really seem to go with the "fighter barcade" theme you know? What I would have done is change the SNK or CAPCOM logo into a green color scheme and add it on there. I don't know how that would look, but it's worth a try i guess. It looks good though, keep it up!!

Thanks for the comments...   ;D  I was originally just called the barcade... that is until I found out that there were at least a few projects by the name out there so I changed it to differentiate it (I do play alot of fighters on it ;) )  Looking back I would leave both the atari logos and the Mame barcade logo off of the cp though...  Not sure I want to redo it though now that it is done.

Still not sure on the side art, though the idea of leaving it without any is tempting.  I might go that way.  Any other ideas welcome...  Thanks!

Nice work! Hey, it can still be a barcade... just throw a kegerator in the base there! It would be perfect for playing Tapper!
